'Learning in the Landscape' school garden

Brief: New external spaces and sustainable interventions for a secondary school based in Lewes, Sussex.

Concept: Organic shapes make up the overall structure in reference to the natural forms of the valley, river and the chalk hills which make up the surrounding landscape. The planting provides an opportunity for the students to observe and learn about seasonal change, adaptability and resilience. A courtyard garden has been created as a sanctuary for teachers, as well as students with special educational needs.
